Lauren Bryant
StartOps

Lauren Bryant is a catalytic connector, radical collaborator, and womxnist working to operationalize spaces of belonging in order to ignite and sustain change. A native of Augusta, Georgia and Washingtonian for fifteen years, Lauren has spent the last decade cultivating community within the public education sector. Whether designing learning experiences for funders and philanthropists, leading day-to-day operations in charter schools, or supporting a national network of charter school leaders of color, her values of community, collaboration, and compassion have been centered.

As an earthseed cultivator, Lauren believes in the universal family and that collectively, we have the power to co-create a future where everyone can experience belonging. Lauren is the principal and founder of StartOps, an organization focused on supporting school-based operations teams to co-create and sustain more equitable schools. Prior to relaunching StartOps, Lauren served as the founding Director at National Charter Collaborative, Director of Finance and Operations at Sustainable Futures Public Charter School, and Innovation Portfolio team member at CityBridge Foundation (now CityBridge Education). She is a 2019 Nexus Fellow, 2020 CityBridge Education New Ventures Fellow, and graduate of Georgetown University.

With a deep commitment to a future where supremacy culture no longer dictates outcomes for Black communities and all communities,  Lauren balances her commitment to social equity and justice by practicing rest. This ritual includes daily hatha yoga, nurturing her in-home garden, and loving on her pup Copeland.
